At Gartner, I work with a broad range of other analysts to cover the spaces that I watch. If you’re a vendor that interacts with me, here’s a guide to some other analysts that you should know.

There are three groups of analysts here at Gartner who have coverage related to mine, who belong to three different teams. Those teams are our Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) team, which is part of the division that offers advice to technology buyers (what Gartner calls “end-user organizations”) in the traditional Gartner client base of IT managers; our Technology and Service Provider (“T&SP”) division, which offers advice to vendors and investors along with end-users, and also produces quantitative market data such as forecasts and market statistics; and our Technical Professionals division (formerly our Burton Group acquisition), which offers advice to technology implementors, generally IT architects and senior engineers in end-user organizations.

We all collaborate with one another, but these distinctions matter for anyone buying research from us. If you’re just buying what Gartner calls Core Research, you’ll have access to research targeted at IT leaders. To get access to T&SP-specific content, though, you’ll need to buy an upgrade, usually in the form of a Gartner for Business Leaders (GBL) research seat. The Technical Professionals (GTP) resesarch is sold separately; anything that GTP analysts write (that’s not co-authored with analysts in other groups) goes solely to GTP subscribers. The I&O analysts and T&SP analysts are available via inquiry by anyone who buys Gartner research (although you must have a GBL research seat to ask about T&SP content regardless of its author), but the GTP analysts are only inquiry-accessible by those who buy GTP research specifically. You can, however, brief any of us — client status doesn’t matter for briefings.

Lydia Leong (I&O, North America and global) – Primary coverage is cloud IaaS (and cloud computing in general) on a global basis, along with broader infrastructure strategy. Secondary coverage is containers (including Docker, Mesos, and the like), content delivery networks (CDN), Web hosting, and Internet infrastructure in general. She works primarily with end-users, but also with vendors and investors.

Kyle Hilgendorf (GTP, North America and global) – Primary coverage is cloud IaaS, including hybrid cloud (internal and external cloud infrastructure). He works primarily with technical end-users.

Mindy Cancila (GTP, North America and global) – Primary coverage is cloud IaaS, including hybrid cloud and cloud management. She works primarily with technical end-users.

Elias Khnaser (GTP, North America and global) – Primary coverage is cloud and virtualized infrastructure, including end-user computing. He works primarily with technical end-users.

Doug Toombs (GTP, North America and global)  – Primary coverage is cloud IaaS including managed services, plus hosting and colocation. He works primarily with technical end-users.

Raj Bala (I&O, North America) – Primary coverage is cloud IaaS, with a specialty in cloud storage. Also covers storage more broadly. He works primarily with end-users.

Mike Dorosh (T&SP, North America) – Primary coverage is managed cloud IaaS, hosting, colocation, and CDN. He works primarily with end-users, but also with vendors and investors.

Craig Lowery (T&SP, North America) – Primary coverage is cloud IaaS and managed services, with a specialization in cloud financial management and cloud cost comparisons. He works primarily with end-users, but also with vendors and investors.

Bob Gill (I&O, North America) – Primary coverage is Web hosting and colocation. Secondary coverage is cloud IaaS and CDN. He works primarily with end-users.

Tiny Haynes (I&O, Europe) – Covers Web  hosting, colocation, cloud IaaS, and carrier services, in Europe. He works primarily with end-users.

Ron Blair (I&O, North America) – Covers cloud IaaS and managed services, disaster recovery as a service, Web  hosting, and colocation.  He works primarily with end-users.

Gregor Petri (T&SP, Europe) – Covers a variety of topics related to communication services providers (carriers) and the cloud, including cloud IaaS, managed services, and cloud services brokerage (CSB). Also covers Web hosting and colocation in Europe. He works primarily with vendors, but also with end-users. Based in the Netherlands.

Michael Warrilow (T&SP, Asia) – Covers virtualized and cloud infrastructure. He works primarily with vendors, but also with end-users. Based in Australia.

Kevin Ji (I&O, China)  – Covers infrastructure strategies in China, including cloud IaaS. He works with both end-users and vendors.

Chee-Eng To (T&SP, Asia) – Covers carrier services in Asia, including colocation, Web hosting, and cloud IaaS. He works primarily with vendors, but also with end-users. Based in Singapore.

Vincent Fu (T&SP, China) – Covers carrier services in China, including colocation, Web hosting, and cloud IaaS. He works primarily with vendors, but also with end-users. Based in China.
